This regular posting provides information on what is new on the Re.ViCa wiki - http://www.virtualcampuses.eu - on virtual campuses across the world.
The posting covers the period since 1 July 2010 from all the contributors to the wiki.
New last fortnight
- Added definitions for Edublogger and Underwiki
- Added new abbreviation SWANI (as used e.g. by JISC)
- New category Bloggers with initial entries Bates, Conole, Jennings and Siemens
- Added new material on Moodle - open source alternatives
New earlier in October
- Some new technical redirections including WIKI, REVICA and RE.VICA
- Development of a page and links for the Aprenred V conference in Guadalajara
- Update to Mexico page and pages for some institutions in Mexico
New in September
- New page on Aalto University - formed when the Helsinki University of Technology, Helsinki School of Economics and University of Art and Design Helsinki were merged
- New material on Capella University
- Considerable updating of entries on British Columbia and Alberta provinces of Canada
- New page on Bibliography of quality - a "work in progress" oriented to needs of ICDE and North American entities
- Belatedly added Oman to the list of countries in which the Arab Open University has a branch
Highlights of work in July and August
- Added definitions and categories for virtual school and virtual college - and tagged many entries appropriately
- Radical reconstruction of Canadian entities into provinces including entry for each province - see in particular Provinces and Territories of Canada
- Radical but not entirely complete reconstruction of German entities into provinces (Länder) including entry for each Land - see Category:Germany
- Considerable updating of lists of EU projects pertaining to Virtual Campuses - e.g. UNI-QM
- Large amount of tagging of institutions and Programmes with which VLE (or VLEs) they use - e.g. Category:Blackboard
- Additional work in the long-term ongoing project of creating an entry and a category for each state of the United States
